William Lindsey voted in as new Central Committee Chairman
On November 17, 2022, Rhonda Zimmers resigned her position as the Clark County Central Committee Chairman. A vote took place and William Lindsey was unanimously voted in as chairman of the Central Committee. After Chairman Lindsey was sworn in newly appointed precinct captains were also sworn in.
William Lindsey graduated from Vandalia Butler high school in 1972. He joined the Butler Township Fire Department in December of 1971. He became a charter member of the Vandalia Fire Department when he and 31 other firefighters founded it in 1976. He retired from there department in 1984.
In 1977, he went to work for Frigidaire in Moraine and was laid off in 1979 when it closed. He was recalled in 1985 to the Moraine Assembly Plant and went on to retire from there in 2006.
Before moving to New Carlisle in 2009, he lived in various places all around Vandalia and Miami County. He has owned and operated several businesses and was a landlord for 20 years.
In 2015, he was elected to the City of New Carlisle council and was seated in January 2016. He has served as a Councilman for the past two years. In January of 2018, he also became the Vice Mayor of New Carlisle.
Chairman Lindsey will serve as the chairman of the Clark County Central Committee for the remainder of former Chairman Zimmers' term.
